That running animation, lol.

I enjoyed this a lot more than Sophie because the alchemy portion was much less annoying. In Sophie’s game, I had to look up what to do for a lot of recipes because I had to transfer traits from one item to another over and over. I wouldn’t have figured any of that out without a guide. Thankfully, for the recipe ideas in Firis, I didn’t even have to think about it. I could just play a while and Firis would have a new idea.
Exploration is much better this time too. Instead of having a map travelling to small areas to gather items, there’s a huge world to explore. Not only that, but the combat was a lot more enjoyable and faster. One of the things I worried about at the beginning was the time limit. Firis has a limited amount of time to explore the world, take the alchemy exam and became a licensed alchemist. I eventually realized I had more than enough time.
Then in the second half of the game, all you do is grind and make more items with alchemy until stuff happens. The weirdest part for me is how it doesn’t end on a boss fight. The first half kinda does, but the fights in the exam you don’t have to win. The game just ends with Firis figuring out what she wants to with her life. Definitely the Atelier game I like the most at the moment.

This is the first game in the series that I’ve beaten and it was okay. Combat could be a bit annoying and leveling up felt so slow. As for the alchemy portion, I get how to make items but I still don’t think I fully understand how it works. What stood out to me the most was how there wasn’t that much for plot. For the most part, it’s just doing various tasks for different people around town. I think it’s a decent game, but it definitely could have been better.
I may have been busy working at Walmart but I was still able to watch a lot of anime, so like the past few years, here are some lists.

Thank you, Steam. How else was I supposed to know that Persona 3 is similar to Persona 4 and 5?
My only experience with the series before this was the first GBA one, which I never completed, so this is the first one I beat. I definitely enjoyed my time with this one. However, things got a bit frustrating the further I got in. When it comes to the story and characters, they’re okay. I’m not really that attached to any of the characters and I don’t really have much to complain about with the plot. Anyways, I’m definitely going to keep playing the series after this.
Made it.
